Experimental Study on Using Cement Kiln Dust and Plastic Bottle Waste to Improve the Geotechnical Characteristics of Expansive Soils in Sulaimani City, Northern Iraq

In this study, stabilization of expansive soils using waste materials namely; Cement Kiln Dust (CKD), and plastic bottles (WPB) was experimentally investigated. Using CKD WPB are exponentially increasing day by day, due to their capability solve both environmental geotechnical problems successfully. Expansive were collected from locations with a wide range plasticity index (PI) (15 - 27) liquid limit (LL) (35% 64%). Stabilizer percentages varied 0% 20%, curing durations for cases 7 28 days. Results showed the best 12% each one respectively. LL, (PL), swelling percent (SP) loss observed, which 46%, 55%, 96% respectively, CBR increase that is 98% addition mixture obtained. The percentage utilized after days curing.
